How people feel and function at work isn’t mutually exclusive from everything else happening in their lives. As an organization, helping your people thrive at work and beyond is a crucial element for not only retaining your people, but is a necessary step towards building an adaptable workforce.
Talent Insurance from LeggUP helps your organization put wellness before illness.
By focusing on issues like stress management, avoiding burnout, and emotional health, Talent Insurance helps people develop skills, habits, and behaviors directly impacting their mental health while catapulting organizational output and culture.
Talent Insurance from LeggUP is an integrated people development and preventative mental health platform offered as an employee benefit. Our personalized and holistic approach to professional coaching helps your people in two of the three main areas of wellbeing— surviving and thriving. While many wellness programs, mental or behavioral coaching platforms, and EAPs focus on individuals who are "struggling," most of your workforce population (an estimated 4 of 5 employees) falls into the "surviving" and "thriving" categories.
Nearly one in five people in the U.S. have a mental health disorder, making it one of the most burdensome health concerns to date.
For individuals already diagnosed with a clinical disorder like anxiety or grief, our professional and mental health coaching acts as a highly effective support mechanism to understand what impacts their symptoms at work and how to mitigate negative effects.
It’s always better to be proactive rather than reactive, especially when it comes to your mental health and wellbeing!
For those who are “surviving,” we recommend focusing their coaching experience around our 20+ Wellbeing topics. These topics first help the individual identify work-related triggers at risk of impacting or degrading their mental health. Then, they’ll learn to adopt new skills, habits, and behaviors to reduce these uncovered triggers. Some of our most popular topics include Building Authentic Relationships, Balance and Wellbeing, and Emotional Triggers.
People who are thriving are highly engaged at home and at work and are usually ready to continue flourishing in their professional and personal lives.
For those “thriving,” we recommend focusing their coaching experience around our 20+ Productivity topics. These topics, created by in-house Psychologists and led by professionally trained coaches, center around developing sets of behaviors instrumental in achieving desired levels of performance while still prioritizing their mental health. Some of our most popular topics include Authentic Mentoring, Conversational Intelligence, and Team Mindset.
LeggUP’s Talent Insurance helps organizations develop adaptable workforces, so your people embrace change with elastic-like energy, your teams are resilient, and your company’s performance skyrockets. Burnout, as defined by the World Health Organization, is a syndrome conceptualized as resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed. It is characterized by three dimensions: feelings of energy depletion or exhaustion; increased mental distance from one’s job, or feelings of negativism or cynicism related to one's job; and reduced professional efficacy.
If one scores high on engagement, it typically correlates with the amount of energy they get out of work and the ability to fully immerse in a specific tasks. This turns the task into something rewarding without requiring any external rewards. Engaged employees are those who wake up in the morning excited for the day ahead. Thus, engagement and burnout can be seen as opposites, where engagement results in energy, and burnout results in exhaustion. Being opposites, high levels of burnout may lead to low levels of engagement, while disengagement may lead to burnout. Engaged employees find energy and purpose in their work, which keeps them coming back. An emphasis on engagement, therefore, works to benefit both dimensions of Wellbeing.
Relationships have proven to be the best single predictor of happiness in life, and social support is an important factor in preventing stress and burnout.
While many view satisfaction as being caused by something, individuals can actually create their own satisfaction through intentional thought and behavior. Roughly 40% of happiness can be changed through intentional activities, and by focusing on their person-job fit. When an individual fits well within their organization, is engaged in their activities, and has an effective commitment to the organization, satisfaction and wellbeing will rise.
Emotional Health encompasses feelings like happiness, relaxation, and ease, as opposed to negative emotions of anxiety, anger, or worry. Individuals who thrive have a 3:1 ratio of positive to negative emotions, or feel roughly 3 positive emotions for every one negative emotion experienced. This dimension focuses on identifying and managing emotions, increasing positivity, and decreasing negative thoughts, as well as implementing gratitude practices, tol enhance the positivity ratio and lead to improved perceptions of wellbeing.
Our minds and bodies are intricately connected, a fact we’ve ignored in the workplace for far too long. While there may be workplace perks that directly target physical health, such as subsidized gym memberships, there are areas of coaching that can help an individual better cope with stress and manage their wellbeing, resulting in improved health. Our members see up to a 39% improvement in their physical health after just 3 to 4 months of actively utilizing Talent Insurance.
